Big Sur

We just returned from a relaxing long weekend in Big Sur and we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather the entire time. If you’ve never been to Big Sur, it’s easy to pass through the area without really noticing anything spectacular about it, but once you start exploring trails and narrow winding roads you can find some amazing sights.

Ireland/UK Trip
In early summer, Robin and I will be chaperones on another three-week study abroad trip to Ireland and the United Kingdom. I’ve set up another blog that will have a ton of info about the trip as the dates approach, and we will also be posting to it while on the trip. You can check it out at http://www.paullangphotography.com/british_isles
Interview with Gavin McClurg of The Best Offshore Odyssey
A few days ago I interviewed Gavin McClurg from the Best Offshore Odyssey. Gavin is the captain of the Discovery, a Lagoon 60 Catamaran that is three years into a five-year circumnavigation. A lot of people have done circumnavigations before, but the Best Offshore Odyssey is exploring off-the-map places for their kiteboarding potential. To date, they have discovered close to 100 kiteboarding spots that were previously unridden. You can check them out at http://www.offshoreodysseys.com/

Aruba, 4-09
Last week, I was lucky enough to find myself on a press trip to Aruba with a group of travel writers who were going to learn how to kiteboard while on the island. I had a great time over there and met a ton of great people. The license plates on Aruba say ONE HAPPY ISLAND, and they mean it. Check out the photos at http://www.paullangphotography.com/aruba
