  1. Rachel Mellby Says:

What is the information for our flights to and fro?

  2. Robin Lang Says:

    Hi Rachel,
If you’re flying with the group both ways, here’s the flight info:

To Ireland–May 18 depart San Diego at 11:50am on flight #580; layover in Chicago O’Hare and departure at 7:20pm on flight #92; arrive in Dublin at 8:40am on May 19

From London–June 8 depart London Heathrow on flight #81 at 12:15; layover at Dallas-Fort Worth and departure at 6:30pm on flight #1121; arrive in San Diego at 7:35pm

These flight numbers could change up until the day of departure. If I know of any changes, I will let everyone know.

What airline are we flying on?

  4. Robin Lang Says:

    Hi Alli,
Good question. We are flying on American Airlines.

  5. Katie Pedlowe Says:

Should we just bring one pair of shoes? If so, what’s the best kind to bring?

  6. Robin Says:

    Hi Katie,

One pair of shoes would be just fine. I brought two pairs last time, but hardly worn one pair. I brought a pair of Top Siders and pair of slip on flats. I only wore the flats two or three times, so I could have easily gone without them. I may bring a pair of easy to slip on boots this time, depending on the forecast, but I’ll probably just be over-packing. My shoes were damp for a few days when it rained in England, but nothing too bad. I think someone brought boots last time and hardly ever worn them.

Whatever you bring, make sure you bring comfortable walking shoes, since we will be walking a lot. If they’re not comfortable walking three to six miles in them, I wouldn’t bring them. You’d be fine with just a comfortable pair of tennis/running shoes. I think last time a couple of girls wore Rainbow sandals almost the whole time, but they looked pretty cold at times. Though on the other hand, I did bring sandals the first time I went on the trip as a student, and ended up wearing them quite a bit the last half of the trip since Europe had an unusual heat spell that summer. So really, bring whatever you’re truly comfortable in. If you buy new shoes, you’ll definitely want to break them in before we leave.
