My parents bought a beautiful 1959 Owens Flagship a few months ago and I ended up helping them do a little work to it while I was visiting. They needed to have a survey done in order to get insurance, so I moved the boat from Vallejo up to the Napa Valley Marina. The surveyor found a bunch of minor problems, so we spent the weekend doing repairs and repainting the bottom.
The cruise from Vallejo only took about an hour, and there are so few boats along the way that I was conviced that I was going the wrong way. The Napa River is lined with a number of houses, some big and new and some small and old, all of which have docks in front of them. I felt like an old moviestar putting by in the classic wooden boat.
